How to prepare for your photoshoot in Marrakech
Published on August 30, 2026 · Marrakech Photographe

A great photoshoot is largely decided before the day itself. You don't need to know how to pose — that's my job to guide you — but a few simple preparations make all the difference.
Choosing your outfits
Favour outfits you feel comfortable in and that look like you. Plain, muted colours age better than busy patterns. In Marrakech, natural tones (white, beige, terracotta) go beautifully with the backdrops. Bringing two outfits lets you vary the moods. For a hen party shoot, we simply coordinate the group’s colours.
Thinking about location and time
The setting sets the tone of your images: the medina for colours, a riad for intimacy, Agafay for the grand scenery. We choose together based on the look you like. As for timing, the golden hour (sunrise or sunset) offers the most beautiful light and a gentler heat.
Anticipating the weather and the pace
Marrakech is sunny almost all year, but summer means shooting early in the morning or late in the day. If you come as a family, we set the session for a time when the children are rested.
Above all, relax
The key to a good photo is being natural. I welcome you, put you at ease and give you simple prompts throughout the session. The rest comes on its own — real smiles and spontaneous gestures make the best images.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know how to pose for a photoshoot?
No. I guide you throughout the session: where to look, what to do with your hands, how to stand. Most of the people I photograph don't know how to pose at first.
How long does a session last?
The length depends on the number of people, the location and the type of session. We define it together before the quote.
When do we receive the edited photos?
The delivery schedule depends on the project and the number of images. It is specified in your proposal.
